It's not just me: Two co-workers have noticed an upswing in the number of telemarketing calls the past week or two. I've been getting three and four a day.
I can't confirm this yet (although it might make a good news story for 'A' News next week), but we suspect they're rushing to get in all the calls they can, before the Do Not Call List takes effect September 30.

Again, what real difference is the do not call list going to make when you read all the exceptions? I don't know about you, but it's usually people that have some sort of connection (however tenuous) that call. They'll still be calling no matter how many lists I put myself on.
I had 12 calls on Friday.
TWELVE! WTF?
The policy in our house is that we don't answer the phone if we don't recognize the number.
Life's MUCH easier that way.
Ugh. I'm glad i just have a cellphone
I'm too cheap to pay for call display. Besides, it's kind of therapeutic hanging up on the telemarketers, even without swearing at them.
