What's wrong with this picture?

I got off work shortly after 11:30 last night, and practically raced to the Sunoco near my place to fill up with gas -- even though I still had about three-eighths of a tank -- to beat the midnight price increase. So I was practically jubilant to pay 117.2! Adding to my joy was that the Petro-Can across the street and the Esso further up the street were already at 120.5.

The people I feel really sorry for are the poor eight-bucks-an-hour guys and gals inside the booth who take all the crap when customers vent about getting hosed at the pump.

I don't recall hearing of any large petroleum companies going bankrupt lately. Do you?

The rich and crass get richer and crasser on the backs of the little guys.

WOW! You got a real bargain at 1.17, Even at 1.20. I paid $1.29 the other day and I didn't even know what the price was because it wasn't posted. After filling up and driving a bit further I realized another gas station was at 1.29 and I thought "OH MY GOD, is that how much I just paid?"

SHOOT!

Bizarre, innit?

Apparently, Montreal and the province of Newfoundland are the two places getting hit with the worst prices in the country right now.
Been anywhere from 1.17 to 1.20 here in Southern O for the last 24 hours, as well. We're being gouged, and we have a federal government just standing by - not prepared to do anything to investigate why. Weak-ass Conservatives.

Weak-assed Conservatives, yes, but the Liberals never anything about it either, because gas is taxed on a percentage basis.

As for Quebec being hard hit, it's bizarre to see that just across the river from Ottawa, Gatineau ALWAYS has higher gas prices.

I think you should get a kiss with every fill-up. I like getting kissed when I'm getting screwed.

My point is that the price of gas from the oil companies is going up for no reason, and the Federal Conservatives have no plans for investigating why the price is going up. Scared of upsetting the fat boys over at 'big oil'. I'm not ven asking anyone to change their tax levels. I'm just asking the people who supposedly run the country why they don't have the stones to do anything about phantom price increases. The price of a barrel of oil and the price of getting it out of the ground did not change since the previous increase, but Harper and the boys aren't gonna say 'boo'. That's pathetic.

$1.34 in Montreal. I'd ride my bike to work but I don't have one.

Maybe I just find a job closer to home so I can walk.

Yeah, right, Maria. As if you'd give up that sweet gig at Air Canada.
