I'm worried about Doe-reen

You remember her. She's the dear deer who was frolicking in the field behind my place back in July, and I took this photo of her.

Okay, so the name just occurred to me today, but here's why: A couple of hours ago, a deer was hit and killed by an OCTranspo bus, not far from here. Word is that the driver was the only human on the bus, and the deer went through the passenger's side of the windshield, dying soon thereafter inside the bus.

Was it Doe-reen? I'll never know.

Why do I suddenly have a craving to fire up my barbecue and grill some venison?

Hope it wan't Doe-reen (Cute btw) cause it's never good when an animal you've name passes.

But now that you think of it... I do love me some venison...

...especially with a nice cranberry gravy.

Bob: You are evil. You, too Kitty. Look at that poor itty, bitty innocent widdle deer. All you can think of when you see this lovely creature is filling your already overfilled bellies? Tsk tsk

a) I'm pretty sure Bob didn't name the animal until after it was dead (or assumed dead), so - no guilt!

b) Cranberry is okay, but if you haven't tried venison with a white sauce, you haven't lived.
...and a nice bottle of Chianti. (Insert Hannibal Lecter's vile slurping sound here)

c) Maria, Kakapupukooki is actually a small town close to where Bob grew up. They have a casino there now, but as yet they haven't released a diet book.

Ok any diet named kaka-poopoo is NOT a diet for me. Thanks.

As for Venison and a white sauce, when you make it I'll be there.

My fav resto in the Old Port is Restaurant des Gouverneurs and they have this Venison with Cranberry Gravy. The mean just melts in your mouth and the gravy with the cranberry is so tangy. YUM!

I took Didz there for our 3 month anniversary (I'm a terribly romantic sap) I had the usual... the Venison and he had the Mustard Rabbit.

We were almost done when I realized we were eating Bambi AND Thumper...

... and they couldn't have tasted better!

Just as long as you don't eat Flower.

Kakapupukooki is really a town?? I bet thats where they make those horrible tasting diet cookies.

WOW Kitty is definately the most romantic dude I have ever heard of... 3 month anniversary? You actually remembered that?

We did something special for each month the first year. Now we just do the yearly.

We moved into our new home last Dec 15th and had our 17 month anniversary the next day. :-)
