It's not because I'm heading into day 6 of 7 in a row at work. The upside of that is that I'm off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; work Saturday and Sunday (albeit 14 hours on Sunday) and then have two more days off.
No, what has me feeling old today is my stupid memory for numbers and dates, and the realization that I graduated from Grade 13, THIRTY YEARS AGO TODAY! Oy, my aching bones.
I wasn't even at the graduation ceremony. The head of the guidance department talked my mom into going to accept an award that I won. You see, I was in Calgary, captaining my school's Reach for the Top team in the national championships. We lost the final game to a school from Winnipeg by 25 points -- but that's a story for another day.
Oh well, I'd better stop getting depressed about these milestones. Still to come in the next seven months or so: Little Bro Dan's 25th birthday in August, and my 50th in February.
Anyone else feeling particularly old today?

HA! Yea I'm feeling that too... as you saw on my blog I had a impromptu chance 20 year reunion myself last night. And while for me it's only 20... HA! Only 20?! It seems like just yesterday when I graduated. YIKES!
I'm assuming the 30 year will be here in the blink of an eye.
Goodie.
I feel VERY old today for some strange reason I am the only person who seems to have come down with a wicked cold in the middle of the freakin' summer! My nose is running (I better go catch it), my head is stuffed up (maybe it was the ouzo last night at my friend's house), and my bones are freakin aching (I ain't gonna say why)...
I am off to sit in my jacuzzi and then off to bed.
Catch you guys soon and BOBBY baby you are not old you are like a fine wine... better with age!
Did you mean fine WHINE, Maria?
Hey, you gots a Jacuzzi? Bathroom or backyard hot tub? I totally love hot tubs. I have three friends who have them in their yards, and they're awesome, especially when it's -30C and you keep your beer cold in the snow next to the tub. Now THAT'S relaxin'.
By the by, how's the ankle?
I have a 4 person jacuzzi in my house, located in the downstairs bathroom. I lay there in it with a cup of lemon tea and didn't want to get out!
I put some Vicks under my nose before bed and this morning I can breathe a little better.
As for the ankle its coming along I have my first physio appointment this coming Thursday. Thanks for asking.
So jealous, wish I had a jacuzzi. What I gots holds only enough water for a 5 yr old. As for feeling old, after doing 8 shifts(and still 2 more to go), my kness feel like they belong on a 90-something lady. I go for an MRI on my right knee in a few weeks,, hoping to get some answers. And Maria, if I end up on crutches, I may just take some time off and come visit your jacuzzi, I mean you...
you are always welcome!!
