"Honey, I'm home!"

Just got home shortly after 1am. I was up at 6am for the useless three hours before the flight thing. The bus was supposed to leave the resort at 7:25. At 7:30 the Air Transat/Nolitours rep showed up to tell us the flight was delayed by two hours, and the bus would be leaving at 10:00. By the time we got to Toronto, got the Park Plaza to send enough shuttles for all 55 of us (as was supposedly pre-arranged last week), it was 8:30 by the time I was on the 401. I had a passenger to keep me company, and keep me awake. The boyfriend of the groom's cousin goes to school in Ottawa, and missed his connecting flight from Toronto by ten minutes.

I and several others say that when we book a vacation from now on, we will avoid Transat whenever possible. The flight to the Dominican was also delayed last weekend. Either Transat doesn't have enough equipment to handle its passenger load, or the equipment isn't reliable enough. (Maria or anyone else is welcome to comment on this. You have the topic -- discuss!)

Anyway, it was a great, memorable week.

Beddy-bye time now. My sister is coming over at noonish (just over 10 hours from now) to help me finish packing for Monday's big move.

I'll be in touch after that, the good Lord and Rogers cable/internet willing.

WELL LET ME BE THE FIRST TO SAY, WELCOME HOME BOBBY...

HOPE YOU HAD A NICE TIME, AS FOR AIR TRANSAT LETS JUST SAY THEY ARE A "SPECIAL" AIRLINE! I HAVE NEVER PERSONALLY FLOWN WITH THEM BUT I HAVE HEARD SOME HORROR STORIES. A FEW HOURS DELAY FOR AIR TRANSAT IS REALLY NOT THAT BAD, ITS ACTUALLY KINDA NORMAL.

AT LEAST YOU WEREN'T ON THAT AIR TRANSAT FLIGHT THAT HAD TO BE GLIDED INTO THE AZORES... REMEMBER THAT?

Welcome home Bobby!

My 1st trip to Vegas was on Air Transat. Heading home, the flight was delayed TEN hours. TEN. And we had to spend them all inside the airport... do you know how annoying the WHEEL OF FORTUNE slot machines can be after 5 minutes, nevermind TEN HOUR?!?!? Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgh!

The worst part of it though was when they made the initial announcement about the plane being delayed. "Seems the windshield cracked on the plane's trip here from Europe."

Cripes! NEVER tell me that. Tell me "mechanincal problems" or "we're waiting on a part" but don't tell me that windows are breaking mid-freakin-flight. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Been back to Vegas 6 times since - never flown Air Transat, never had a problem since.

Welcome home, NGB.
Good you made it safe, however annoying it may have been. My first (and last) experience with Air Transat was to the Carribean. "To" was only slightly delayed, "Back" was about 6 hours late ... and uncomfortably cramped ... seemed like a narrower cabin than most airlines of its size, and there were people with chickens and goats, and it was really hot ... no, sorry, getting it confused with the nightmares which followed for the next few weeks ... The line blurs ...

The world waits (less and less patiently) for your vacation pictures.

RELAX, PEOPLE! I just got cable installed this morning, and Cable Guy had to call Maintenance to boost the signal. So by the time I get home from work at around midnight, I should be able to get online, watch TV *AND* have phone service.
I guess I'll probably unpack and connect my computer tomorrow morning, so I'll get a few pics out.

Not very nice of you to make us wait till tomorrow.
Whats wrong with when you get home at midnight?? That way we can read it as we check our mail in the morning.

Now we have two things to look forward to tomorrow. Your pics and Ma's news! Shhhheeeesh, what a boring life some of us lead! LOL

BTW, 10 more sleeps for me until I am able to slip on MY bikini.

I hear ya, Maria, but I've been up since 7:45 this morning. My building is still under construction, and the contractor needed me to move my vehicle, then the electrician came in to repair a slight problem that left me with no power in the living/dining area last night.
If I catch my second wind when I get home, I'll connect my computer, and pray that I can sleep a bit later tomorrow.

Sheesh, some of you Bloglodytes are so needy...

Maria, you don't have to wait 10 days to slip on your bikini. It's perfectly okay for you to slip it on right now, while you're communicating with us. We're all friends here.

;-)

...after all, Misster Kitty is wearing his right now, and if you put yours on, he won't feel like he's alone in the bikini-wearing moment.

OK... I will put it on but I ain't posting any pictures!! lol

Fine, Maria, be like that. Just for that, I won't post any of my Speedo pics from Punta Cana.
